Treat it with contemptuous disregard – Kyei Mensah Bonsu on reports of him urging NPP to change candidate
The former Member of Parliament for Suame, Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu has squashed publication of him advising the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to change its presidential candidate before winning power in 2028.
Reports were that the former Minister of Parliamentary Affairs has stated that research conducted by NPP following their heavy defeat in the 2024 general elections, suggests the grassroots want a new face in the 2028 elections hence the need for the party to bring a new candidate instead of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
But in a statement, Hon Kyei Mensah Bonsu has denied making such remarks, stressing that the reports are not supported by verified facts, interviews or any credible source.
He has urged the Ghanaian public to disregard the reportage, and treat it with contemptuous disregard.
