President Mahama unveils 19-member cabinet to tackle national challenges and fulfill campaign promises

President John Dramani Mahama has officially revealed his 19 cabinet ministers, in accordance with the 1992 Republican Constitution.

The newly appointed ministers will support him in managing the country throughout his term.

The announcement was made by Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of State for Government Communications, during a press conference on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

According to Mr. Ofosu, the appointments are focused on addressing critical national issues and fulfilling key campaign promises.

The cabinet features a mix of experienced Members of Parliament and key sector ministers, demonstrating President Mahama’s dedication to inclusive and expertise-driven governance.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu stated that the cabinet is expected to begin its work immediately, with immediate priorities including tackling inflation, reducing unemployment, and addressing security challenges.

The cabinet includes prominent ministries such as:

  • Minister for Finance
  • Minister for the Interior
  • Minister for Health
  • Minister for Defence
  • Minister for Foreign Affairs
  • Attorney General and Minister for Justice
  • Minister for Energy and Green Transition
  • Minister for Education
  • Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry
  • Minister for Lands and Natural Resources
  • Minister for Food and Agriculture

Additionally, the cabinet includes:

  • Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation
  • Minister for Roads and Highways
