Ghana Premier League side, Bechem United have placed Gh¢100,000 reward to anyone who will provide vital information to the arrest of the individual who stabbed Asante Kotoko supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong otherwise known as Nana Pooley.
According to the Bechem-based club, the move, spearheaded by their CEO Dr. Kingsley Achau, is aimed at contributing to the fight against hooliganism at match venues in Ghana football.
In a statement dated February 19, the club also indicated its commitment to ensure security, fairness and discipline in Ghana football by putting up measures at their stadium to eradicate hooliganism.
“As part of our commitment to ensuring safety and order, we have immediately engaged an expert to install CCTV cameras at our stadium to monitor and deter any acts of violence”, part of the statement reads.
It continues that “furthermore, we have sent a stern warning to our supporters that any act of hooliganism will result in a lifetime ban from attending our matches.”
Meanwhile, former Asante Kotoko management member, Akwasi Serebour-Boateng has also offered Gh¢10,000 bounty on the prime suspect in the murder case.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Serebour Boateng indicated that the above-quoted amount would be given to anyone who assist in arresting the prime suspect of the murder case.
“As a former management member of Kotoko, I am offering Gh¢10,000 to anyone who will assist in arresting the killer of Nana Pooley”, he posted on Facebook on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
It has been revealed by the Communication Director of Asante Kotoko, Sarfo Duku that the Ghana Police Service has identified the killer.
“One person is still at large. He’s called Braimah, and according to the police, based on their findings, he is the one who actually stabbed the deceased”, he stated.
“In fact, according to the police, I’m speaking based on the official report, which is now a public document, all the accused persons have admitted that it was Braimah, who is currently on the run, that stabbed Pooley to death”, he added.
