President Mahama urges a thorough reform of Ghana’s education system

President John Dramani Mahama has stressed the importance of a complete reform of Ghana’s education system, calling on all stakeholders to collaborate in creating an inclusive, equitable, and transformative framework.
“Education must prepare our students for service. That is the task we have, We must make recommendations that are far-reaching, transformative, and necessary for developing the global Ghanaian,” President Mahama stated at the National Consultative Forum on Education held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
The President emphasized the significance of shared responsibility in shaping the future of Ghana’s education system.
“The future of this country is in our hands. Let us seize this moment and work together to create a legacy of hope, opportunity, and transformation for future generations.”
President Mahama identified key reform areas, such as foundational learning, teacher training, infrastructure development, and educational technology. He also stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships with parents, traditional leaders, and local communities to support every child’s educational journey.
“We’ll prioritize the actionable reforms proposed here with clear timelines, and measurable outcomes to guide our steps, Regular updates on progress will be shared with the public to build trust and transparency,”President Mahama assured.
As President Mahama officially opened the forum, he encouraged participants to tackle the task with objectivity, courage, creativity, and a steadfast dedication to Ghana’s future.
“Let us be bold in our ideas, collaborative in our approach, and relentless in our pursuit of excellence,” he said.
