Mr. Felix Gyamfi, the Director General of the National Service Authority, has announced that all service personnel will begin receiving their allowance arrears starting February 13, 2025.
In an interview on PM Express on JOYNEWS on Monday, January 12, 2025, Mr. Gyamfi explained that the delay in payments was not intentional, but rather a result of challenges encountered in processing the allowances.
He acknowledged that delays in payments have been frequent over the past eight years but assured personnel that the required funds have now been secured.
“From tomorrow, service person will start receiving all areas due them”.
He also emphasized ongoing efforts to improve the financial system of the National Service Scheme. He stated that his priority is to implement robust auditing measures, a reliable payroll system, and efficient monitoring processes to prevent future payment delays.
He said, “With a proper payroll system, stringent auditing, and strong monitoring, the system will stand the test of time. Even in 10 or 20 years, no one would be able to tamper with it.”
