Imprisoned rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs is expected to be hit with more than 10 new civil lawsuits in the coming days, according to attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents numerous accusers.
The announcement came as Buzbee filed another lawsuit in New York on behalf of an anonymous male accuser, who alleges that Combs assaulted him in 2015.
According to the suit, the plaintiff—who was 23 years old at the time—had been performing at an event attended by Combs and hoped to secure a deal with his label, Bad Boy Records. The accuser claims he was later drugged and assaulted at an afterparty.
Combs’ representatives have yet to respond to the latest lawsuit, but the rapper has repeatedly denied all allegations against him, which include accusations of drugging, assaulting, and raping individuals.
He is also facing federal charges related to a racketeering and sex trafficking scheme, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
Buzbee, a Texas-based lawyer, has played a central role in multiple cases against Combs over the past year. One of the lawsuits also named Jay-Z as a defendant, though the rapper has denied any involvement and has asked the court to dismiss the case.
With a legal deadline approaching on March 1—marking the end of a New York law that temporarily allows victims of past sexual assaults to file civil lawsuits despite the expiration of the statute of limitations—Buzbee stated that he intends to file over 10 additional cases in the next week.
The latest lawsuit details an incident from 2015, when the accuser performed at a nightclub event in the Los Angeles area that Combs attended. The plaintiff claims he was told that Combs was aware of his talent and would be watching his performance.
After what he believed to be a strong set, the accuser says he was invited to an afterparty, where the VIP section was stocked with “countless bottles of Combs’ vodka, Ciroc,” along with “substances such as marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy,” according to the lawsuit.
An associate of Combs allegedly handed him a drink, saying it was from the rapper. Shortly after consuming it, the accuser says he “quickly felt lightheaded” and realized he had been drugged before losing consciousness.
While slipping in and out of awareness, he claims he witnessed Combs and his entourage engaging in “group sexual activity” with attendees who appeared “either drugged, unconscious, or as if they were paid escorts,” according to the lawsuit.
The plaintiff alleges that he eventually woke up to Combs assaulting him. When he attempted to leave, the rapper’s security team intervened, and Combs allegedly threatened to destroy his career, the suit claims.
Currently, Combs is facing more than 30 civil lawsuits related to allegations of sexual misconduct. He remains in a New York jail as he awaits a federal trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
