Medeama appoint Ibrahim Tanko as new head coach

Ghana Premier League outfit, Medeama Sporting Club have appointed Ibrahim Tanko as their new head coach after fruitful negotiations.

Tanko has penned down a two-and-half years deal with the Tarkwa-based club after leaving his roles as technical advisor and head coach at Accra Lions.

The former Borussia Dortmund sensation has replaced Augustine Adotey who has reverted to his original role as the technical director of the club.

Ibrahim Tanko, a UEFA license A holder has joined Medeama with wealth of experience, having worked in Japan’s J League and the Bundesliga.

He also served as an assistant coach of Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions as well as Ghana’s Black Meteors and Black Galaxies.

His first assignment at Medeama will be a league fixture against Legon Cities at the TnA Stadium i n Tarkwa on Sunday, February 3, 2025.
