Goma crisis: Congolese president ignores peace talk

The President of Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Tshisekedi will not partake in the regional talks aimed at ending the rebel assault at Goma, a key city in the eastern part of the country.

Even though Rwanda has denied the accusations, reports indicate that about 280 Romanian mercenaries fighting on the side of Dr Congo have all surrendered to the M23 rebel group.

The M23 armed group took control of Goma’s airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Tuesday, a security , following days of intense clashes that killed more than 100 people and wounded nearly 1,000, according to an AFP tally of tolls from the city’s overflowing hospitals
