US Court grants passport release for Hajia 4Real’s deportation to Ghana

A US court has approved the release of Mona Faiz Montrage’s passport to allow for her deportation to Ghana after she completes her prison sentence.

Montrage, also known as Hajia 4Real, is currently serving a 12-month sentence at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia after pleading guilty to conspiracy to receive stolen funds in a fraudulent scheme.

Her legal team, Fast Law, submitted the request on November 1, 2024, explaining that the passport was necessary to initiate the self-deportation process. Court records indicate that prosecutors did not object to the request.

US District Judge J. Paul Oetken granted the request, ordering that the passport be given to her lawyers.

The Ghanaian influencer was sentenced on June 28, 2024, after acknowledging her participation in a fraud scheme that deceived individuals and businesses in the US from 2013 to 2019.

Along with her sentence, the 32-year-old was instructed to forfeit $216,475 and pay $1,387,458 in restitution. She will also face three years of supervised release following her prison term.

This court ruling clears the way for Hajia 4Real‘s return to Ghana once her sentence is completed.
