CETAG staff migration to university salary structure successfully resolved, says Fair Wages Commission

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has announced that the issue of migrating Colleges of Education staff to the university-grade salary structure has been resolved.

This comes after the National Labour Commission (NLC) directed the migration of CETAG members into the public university grade structure.

In a statement, Fair Wages explained that, following the NLC’s directive, the government formed a Migration Committee on August 29, 2024.

The committee included members from the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, the Ghana Tertiary Commission, the Ministry of Finance, and the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to oversee the migration of CETAG members to the public university grade structure.

According to Fair Wages, the Controller and Accountant General’s Department has since processed payments for beneficiaries in the January 2025 payment window, and the research allowance top-up has been disbursed to all Colleges of Education, except Akokerri College of Education.

The Commission also praised the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in resolving CETAG’s concerns.
