Arsenal appeal against Lewis-Skelly’s red card
Arsenal Football Club have appealed the sending off of midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly in a league game against Wolves last Saturday.
The 18-year old was shown a red card during Arsenal’s 1:0 win against Wolves at the Molineux Stadium.
Lewis-Skelly was red carded for catching Matt Doherty above the ankle with a late tackle to break up a counter-attack just outside the Wolves box in the 43rd minute.
The decision by referee Michael Oliver was upheld by video assistant referee (VAR) Darren England.
He will not be available for league games against Manchester City and Leicester City as well as Carabao Cup semi-final fixture against Newcastle United.
The Football Association is yet to announce verdict on the appeal.
