Minister-Designate Emelia Arthur pledges to strengthen fisheries sector with blend of scientific and indigenous knowledge

Madam Emelia Arthur, the Minister-Designate for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, has pledged to combine scientific and indigenous knowledge to strengthen the fisheries sector.

She made this statement during her vetting session before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Wednesday, January 23, 2025.

Madam Arthur emphasized that under her leadership, the fisheries sector will experience increased production, driven by the integration of traditional knowledge from fishing communities with modern scientific practices.
