Dr. Ato Forson vows to deliver lasting impact in Mahama’s tenure

Newly sworn-in Finance Minister, Dr. Ato Forson, has pledged that the newly appointed ministers under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration will work diligently to make his tenure the most impactful in Ghana’s Fourth Republic.

Speaking on behalf of the six ministers who were sworn in at the Jubilee House on January 22, 2025, Dr. Forson expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve and emphasized their commitment to achieving tangible results.

“Mr. President, we want to assure you that we will serve in such a way as to make you the best president in the Fourth Republic,” Dr. Forson highlighted the ministers’ commitment to tackling the nation’s urgent challenges.

Dr. Forson underscored their collective recognition of the difficult road ahead, pointing to economic instability, energy supply issues, justice reform, food security, and education as critical areas needing urgent focus. He emphasized the team’s resolve to help reset the country under President Mahama’s leadership.

“We are aware of the state of the Ghanaian economy, the state of our energy sector, the justice system, the agriculture sector, and education. While we start work today, we will begin the process to reset the country together with you and your team,” he pledged.
