The Member of Parliament for Effia Constituency, Lawyer Isaac Boamah Nyarko, has emphasized that failing to fulfil his promises to the electorate is unacceptable.
In an interview on Beach FM, the legislator stated that the people of Effia are counting on him to create job opportunities, which stem from his prior community engagements ahead of the 2024 elections.
Lawyer Nyarko acknowledged that the task ahead would be challenging but reaffirmed his commitment to making accountability a cornerstone of his leadership.
He added that his vision is centred on developing a plan to bring meaningful change to the constituents’ lives.
“I had a very strong interaction with them, I’ve done over 50 community engagements. I’ve opened a door where everybody could speak to me on their expectations. I’ve tabled all of that as I speak to you now. I have a database that speaks to me of every interaction that I’ve had with the people.”
“Everything that they asked for, everything that I said, I have it in the database. So these are the things that we are going to refer to and fine-tune it and see what can be done to improve the lives of the people of Effia. So I already know what they want. It’s about employment for the youth,”
” In fact, that is never an excuse. It will be difficult, but we have to do it. We bargain for it. So it doesn’t matter. My party is not in power.
The party in power is still the government of Ghana. The party in power still represents the good people of Ghana. And so it is my work to go to government and ask for the opportunities that exist for the people of Effia. If I hit bottlenecks, mine is to come back to the people and explain. But the commitment to fight and make sure that we make a difference, that one is my job, and I’m going to do it for the people.”
” And I can assure you in the next year, every year, I’ll come and tell you what I’ve done, and we will show the numbers that we’ve been able to support either in their own jobs that they need support, whether it is public service jobs that we have created for the people.”
Lawyer Boamah further noted that his representation is not only for NPP supporters but for Effia residents and would not hinder anyone from benefiting from his policies.
“I’ve never been an NPP, parliamentary candidate from day 1. I shared this message even before I became a parliamentary candidate that I’m here to serve the people of Effia. I’ve lived it before I became a parliamentary candidate. The people who voted for me were not NPP. I don’t even know them.
All I know is that Effia people voted for me, and so my representation is not on partisan lines. Of course, I’m from a political party, so I should be able to look at the welfare of the party in Effia. But that is devoid of the general work as a member of parliament for the people of Effia; that one is realistic. And so everything that I’ve done so far and what I’m going to do will continuously reflect a member of parliament that works for the people of Effia irrespective of their political colourization.”
