Governance Analyst Frederick Oduro advocates for abolishing Regional Ministers in Ghana
Governance analyst Frederick Agyarko Oduro shared his views on President Mahama’s appointees during a discussion with the media on January 20, 2025.
Outlining his vision for enhanced governance, Oduro emphasized that, if he were President, he would focus on eliminating the role of Regional Ministers.
Oduro argued that the position of Regional Ministers has become unnecessary within the current governmental structure.
He suggested that the duties traditionally carried out by these officials could be efficiently managed by other existing government bodies, making the position redundant.
“This is not about politics; it’s about improving efficiency,” Oduro emphasized. “The current system might benefit from fewer layers of governance.”
