To intensify revenue mobilisation, the Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG, has begun an “Operation Keep The Lights On” initiative across its operational areas.
Starting today, January 15 to January 31, 2025, the Western Regional PRO, Awal Boye, said the exercise aims to collect outstanding arrears and conduct inspections of prepaid meters nationwide.
In an interview on Spice FM, Awal Boye said the exercise cuts across areas where post meters are installed in households.
In addition to this, Mr. Boye said, there are special teams to inspect the integrity of meters to ascertain if they have not been compromised.
According to him, officials from ECG will go from house to house for this exercise while advising customers to verify the identification of ECG officers.
Mr. Boye implored ECG customers to cooperate in ensuring the success of the exercise.
