President Mahama revokes appointment of MIIF CEO, Mr. Koranteng

The President of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has terminated the appointment of Mr. Koranteng as Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund (MIIF), effective immediately.

A letter from the Office of the President instructed Mr. Koranteng to hand over his responsibilities to the President’s representative at the Ministry of Finance.

Mr. Koranteng had served as CEO of MIIF since March 2021, during which time the Fund launched several initiatives aimed at maximizing Ghana’s mineral revenues to support the country’s economic development.

In the interim, Hon. Dr. Ato Forson will manage the Fund’s operations until a new CEO is appointed.

The President expressed his appreciation for Mr. Koranteng’s contributions to the nation.

This decision is part of the ongoing changes following the recent presidential transition.
