Two young siblings, aged 12 and 8, have tragically lost their lives after being locked inside a water drum while playing in their home in Takoradi.
According to reports, Paulina Azari received a distress call from her mother at approximately 3 PM on January 9, 2025. Her mother informed her that the two children had been discovered unconscious inside a water-filled drum in the kitchen.
The children were rushed to the Takoradi Government Hospital, but they were pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Their bodies have been deposited in the hospital mortuary for preservation.
Investigations by the police revealed that the siblings had been playing in their room before entering the water drum in the kitchen. They reportedly asked their 6-year-old sister to close the drum, but when the girl was unable to open it again, the unfortunate incident occurred.
