Dr. Bawumia honoured with Order of the Star of Ghana at National Awards Ceremony

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has received the prestigious Order of the Star of Ghana – Officer Award during the 2024 Ghana National Honours and Awards ceremony.

The award, presented by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, recognizes Dr. Bawumia’s “exceptional service, dedication, and contributions to national development.”

The ceremony, held at the Accra International Conference Centre, celebrated distinguished Ghanaians and institutions from various sectors for their “unwavering commitment to advancing the nation’s progress.”

Dr. Bawumia was praised for his leadership and economic expertise, particularly for being a pivotal figure in “shaping Ghana’s economic policies and spearheading digital transformation initiatives.”

This recognition highlights the Vice President’s significant role in governance and public service over the years.

The Order of the Star of Ghana, the country’s highest national honour, signifies “exceptional service” in both public and private spheres.

Other key members of the Akufo-Addo administration were also honoured for their dedicated contributions.

Awardees included Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister for Communications and Digitisation; Francis Asenso-Boakye, Minister for Roads and Highways; Chief of Staff Frema Opare, and several others.
