Ghana Armed Forces deny claims of ammunition transport in civilian truck
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dismissed claims in a viral audio recording circulating on social media, which alleged that a civilian pick-up truck was allowed into the 5th Battalion of Infantry’s Magazine to transport boxes of ammunition to an unknown destination.
In a press release issued on December 25, 2024, the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters in Burma Camp assured the public that these claims were completely false and should be disregarded.
The GAF clarified that the vehicle in question was delivering a newly acquired live cow, which was being quarantined prior to its relocation to the kraal near the Magazine.
The statement urged individuals and groups to verify information about security services before spreading misleading claims that could cause unnecessary fear and panic.
The Armed Forces further emphasized their commitment to maintaining the nation’s security and encouraged the public to reach out to the Department of Public Relations for accurate information.
They also called on citizens to avoid actions, whether intentional or accidental, that could disrupt the peace and stability of the country.
