In his Christmas message to the people of Ghana, President-elect John Dramani Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to building an inclusive and prosperous nation.

Mahama extended warm festive greetings to all Ghanaians, emphasizing that the Christmas season represents a time of hope, reflection, and renewal.

He highlighted the values of service, compassion, and justice as central to nation-building, drawing inspiration from the life of Jesus Christ.

“Christmas is a season of hope and renewed inspiration… As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and the values He lived in His own life, I wish to thank you, the good people of Ghana, for bestowing on me the opportunity to serve you as your President and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces,” Mahama expressed.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to creating a prosperous and democratic Ghana, saying, “I wish to also reaffirm my determination to build a nation that works for all, a prosperous and democratic state anchored in the principles of freedom, justice, accountability, and equal opportunities for all.”

Mahama’s address follows his victory in the December 7 presidential election, where the Electoral Commission officially declared him the winner on December 9.

He secured 6,328,397 votes, or 56.55 percent of the valid votes, defeating his main rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61 percent.
