NDC warns supporters against unlawful seizure of State properties

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a strong warning to its supporters, urging them to refrain from unlawfully taking over or destroying government properties allegedly misappropriated by members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

This caution comes in response to reports of state asset seizures and vandalism linked to individuals purportedly associated with the NDC.

In a statement released on December 11, Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Gbande called for calm and adherence to lawful conduct, emphasizing that any suspicions of asset theft or misuse should be reported to the appropriate authorities for investigation and resolution.

Gbande appealed to the party’s youth organizers and regional and constituency executives to ensure discipline among supporters and to prevent further incidents.

He stressed the importance of respecting due process during the transition period, advising that NPP government officials and appointees be allowed to continue their duties without interference until the transition is complete.

The statement further advised party supporters against disrupting operations at government offices, seizing assets, or engaging in activities that could amount to theft.

Instead, it encouraged reporting such matters to law enforcement or party leadership for proper action.

Additionally, the NDC urged its members to monitor and report any instances of post-election recruitment within government agencies to constituency or regional leadership, who would escalate the concerns to the transition team for appropriate action.

The NDC’s directive underscores its commitment to maintaining order and respecting democratic principles as Ghana transitions to a new administration.
