President-elect John Dramani Mahama has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the nation’s security agencies to address the rising incidents of lawlessness following the December 7 general elections.

Reports suggest that individuals believed to be supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have targeted state agencies, ransacking offices and disrupting operations.

In a national address on December 10, Mahama condemned these acts, urging an immediate halt to the attacks on state facilities.

He called on the President and law enforcement agencies to act decisively in restoring order and upholding the rule of law during this transitional period.

Mahama acknowledged reports of vandalism and condemned such behavior, urging citizens to channel their frustrations into constructive efforts aimed at rebuilding the nation.

He highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration, emphasizing that this is a time for rebuilding Ghana through peaceful and lawful means.

He also stressed the need for calm and restraint, reminding citizens of their responsibility to protect democratic institutions and avoid actions that could undermine Ghana’s democracy.

Mahama’s appeal for decisive action reflects his commitment to ensuring a peaceful transition and safeguarding the nation’s democratic values.
