Western Region Provisional Parliamentary Results So Far

As Ghana’s 2024 general elections progress, provisional results from the Western Region are painting a picture of intense competition between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The region, which comprises 17 constituencies, has seen early declarations from a few areas, with the NDC making significant gains in constituencies previously considered NPP strongholds.

However, collation is still ongoing, and the final outcomes could shift as more results are declared.

PROVISIONAL RESULTS:

Sekondi Constituency

  1. Andrew Egyapa Mercer (NPP): 11,084 votes
  2. Blay Nyameke Armah (NDC): 14,558 votes

Kwesimintsim Constituency

  1. Dr. Prince Hamid Armah (NPP): 13,317 votes
  2. Lawyer Fiifi Buckman (NDC): 15,927 votes
  3. Joseph Mensah (Independent): 1,835 votes

Mpohor Constituency

  1. John Kobina Abbam Aboah Sanie (NPP): 8,299 votes
  2. Theresa Kwaw (LPG): 0 votes
  3. Bentil Godfred Henry (NDC): 11,680 votes

Wassa East Constituency

  1. Mona Gertrude Effah (NPP): 13,223 votes
  2. Isaac Adjei Mensah  (NDC): 20,172 votes

Takoradi Constituency

  1. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah (NPP): 16,413 votes
  2. Lawyer Frederick Faustinus Faidoo (NDC): 15,517 votes

Effia Constituency

  1. Lawyer Isaac Boamah-Nyarko (NPP): 15,870 votes
  2. Abdul-Majeed Iddrisu Nassam Dokurgu (NDC): 13,892 votes

Essikado-Ketan Constituency

  1. Charles Onuawonto Bissue (NPP): 17,754 votes
  2. Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah (NDC): 26,166 votes

Shama Constituency

  1. Isaac Kwamina Afful (NPP): 17,082 votes
  2. Emelia Arthur (NDC): 23,043 votes

Collation Ongoing

With results from additional constituencies yet to be declared, the outcomes so far suggest significant gains for the NDC, challenging the NPP’s dominance in some traditionally strong constituencies.
