NDC Takoradi chair confident of change in leadership
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Takoradi Constituency Chairman, Charles Rabbles has expressed optimism about a shift in leadership within the constituency as the 2024 general elections continue.
Speaking at a polling station, Mr. Rabbles commended the overall voting process, describing it as smooth despite a minor hiccup earlier in the day.
“The process has been largely peaceful and orderly. There was a small issue in the morning, but it was promptly resolved without any significant disruption,” he noted.
The issue reportedly involved a misunderstanding between polling agents of the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Mr. Rabbles, an Electoral Commission (EC) official had asked an NDC polling agent to relocate from their position, leading to a disagreement. However, a quick discussion between the parties restored calm.
“We resolved it amicably, and the process has continued without further challenges,” he added.
Mr. Rabbles expressed satisfaction with voter turnout, noting steady participation throughout the day.
The Takoradi NDC Chairman emphasized the need for change in the constituency, criticizing the NPP’s 28-year hold on Takoradi for what he described as a lack of meaningful progress.
“For 28 years, the NPP has led this constituency, yet there has been little to show for it. The people of Takoradi deserve better, and I believe they have realized the need for a new direction,” he stated.
Mr. Rabbles remained confident that the electorate would use the power of the ballot to bring about transformative leadership.
