NCCE organises Parliamentary Candidates dialogue in Essikadu-Ketan Constituency
The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Western Region has organised parliamentary candidate dialogue in the Essikadu-Ketan Constituency, creating a platform for them to interact with the electorates.
The dialogue was aimed at keeping the citizens informed about the intentions of the various candidates and their visions for the constituency.
The Western Regional Director of NCCE, Mr. Justice Yaw Ennin, in an interview with the media after the program, said the Commission undertook a nationwide survey to seek the concerns of the citizenry on their expectations from the candidates.
He said some of the nationwide concerns of the citizens were based on education, health, employment, economy, agriculture, and road infrastructure.
According to him, NCCE initiated the dialogue based on the various concerns shared by the citizens for the candidates to make their intentions and policies known to their people.
Mr. Yaw Ennin expressed gratitude for the participation of both the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary and the New Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidates.
Every election, we conduct parliamentary candidates and dialogue for the contestants who are vying for parliament to express their views. But the basis of this is that we conduct national research called Matters of Consent to the Voter, and we rank what Ghanaians want the next government to do for them.
So this year, our research resource was that the 5 most ranked areas Ghanaians want the next government to focus on are education, employment, health, rules, infrastructure, and the economy. They want the next government to focus on these areas to improve conditions in education, to reduce unemployment, create more jobs for the youth, provide more health facilities, construct more roads and infrastructure, then also work on the economy for the rising prices. The 2 contestants vying for this were in the debate.
