2024 elections: Western Region Police Command outlines security arrangements for December 7

The Western Region Police Command, led by Osei Agogo, engaged with the media at the Rapid Deployment Force to discuss security arrangements for the upcoming December 7 general elections.

Agogo commended the media for their support and outlined the command’s plan to ensure a secure and smooth electoral process.

To facilitate effective communication and coordination, the police will allocate officers to various media houses as coordinators. These officers will serve as liaisons, providing necessary security coverage and assistance to the media.

The polling centres will be demarcated into three parameters: inner, middle, and outer. The inner perimeter will be restricted to accredited individuals, including officers with specific functions, to prevent overcrowding and ensure order.

edia personnel will be required to have accreditation to access the inner perimeter. The police emphasized that without accreditation, entry would be denied.

To ensure successful coverage of the elections, the police will provide liaison officers to media houses. These officers will facilitate quick response teams as a second layer of support.

The police encouraged the media to channel their security needs through their provided liaison officers, who will promptly address their concerns.
