Dr. Pius Seth Mensah, Metro Director of Health, has emphasised the need for parents to patronize the ongoing polio vaccination for children under 5 years.
At a press conference, he outlined the strategies adopted by his outfit to reach children from zero to 5 years. He mentioned that trained vaccinators will visit schools, homes, marketplaces, churches, and mosques.
Parents and guardians can also visit the nearest health facility for the vaccination, as the vaccine prevents childhood paralysis.
Dr. Seth Mensah emphasised that the polio vaccine has been tested and approved nationwide and was deemed safe, and all should help in the campaign.
The vaccination exercise is expected to conclude on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
