Alan Kyerematen, the presidential candidate for the Movement for Change, says, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the political party he helped nurture, calling it a “diminishing” force.
When asked why he left the NPP to form the Movement for Change, Kyerematen provided a historical perspective, explaining that he had been deeply involved in the party since 1992.
However, he felt the time had come for a change. He acknowledged that some believed he had been in the party for too long and that it was time to allow others to step forward and lead.
“Forget about the NPP, it’s a declining party,” Mr. Kyerematen remarked before shifting his focus to other questions.
Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, a Ghanaian politician, corporate executive, and former member of the New Patriotic Party, served as Ghana’s Minister for Trade and Industry from 2017 to 2023.
His political movement, the Movement for Change, is advocating for “The Great Transformational Plan,” which aims to establish an Enterprise Economy in Ghana and ultimately create “Jobs for the People and Cash for the People,” according to Kyerematen.
