Shama District commissions new 6-unit classroom block to enhance educational infrastructure

In a major advancement to the education sector, the Shama District Chief Executive, Ebenezer Dadzie, has commissioned a newly constructed 6-unit classroom block in the Shama Constituency, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s educational infrastructure development.

“This project is part of the nationwide rollout of over 80 educational infrastructure projects initiated under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.”

Mr. Dadzie, delivering a speech at a brief ceremony, expressed gratitude to President Akuffo Addo and Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, for making this project possible.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining the facility and encouraged students to take advantage of the improved learning environment.

Shama District Education Director, Ralph Taylor Aidoo, also acknowledged the contributions of President Akuffo Addo, Minister Hon. Dr. Osei Adutwum, Director General of Ghana Education Service, and Dr. Eric Nkansah.

According to him, the edifice represents grounds for fostering an environment where teaching and learning can flourish.

As we officially open this 6-unit classroom block, not just about the facility but also the potential that lies within each student or person who walks through these doors. Nana Wurapa II, Chief of Nkwanta Kesedo, advised the school authorities to maintain the facility and encouraged students to learn hard for excellence.

Regina Gyampo, headmistress of Shama Model School, expressed her gratitude to the government for the infrastructure, stating that due to the number of students in the school, the classrooms are congested, making it seemingly impossible to admit new students.

The facility contains the headteacher’s office and washroom, general store, ICT lab, staff common room, library, and student washroom.
