The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has vowed to eliminate import duties on mobile phones and reduce the cost of internet data in Ghana if elected in the upcoming general election.
Speaking to stakeholders at Nhyieaso during his constituency-focused nationwide campaign in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that his youth policies would not only create jobs but also protect key social initiatives such as Free SHS, the School Feeding Programme, and the National Health Insurance Scheme. He stressed that a vote for him would safeguard these important social policies for the future of the country.
Nhyieaso, a constituency in the Ashanti Region, has been an NPP stronghold since its creation in 2004, with the party securing 51% of the vote in the 2020 Presidential election.
