TEWU-TUC Embarks on nationwide strike over unresolved conditions of service
The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) under the Trades Union Congress is set to commence a nationwide strike today, Monday, November 18.
This action comes in response to the government’s prolonged inaction on updating conditions of service for staff under the Ghana Education Service (GES), Ghana Library Authority, Museums and Monuments Board, and public technical and traditional universities.
The union has expressed growing frustration over stalled negotiations, which have spanned several years, leaving members dissatisfied with their current conditions.
The National Labour Commission has scheduled a meeting with TEWU and other relevant stakeholders on Wednesday, November 20, in an effort to address the union’s grievances and avert further disruptions.
