GFP running mate Roman Fada reflects on the unexpected passing of Akua Donkor
Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada and the running mate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has shared insights into the sudden death of GFP founder Akua Donkor.
Donkor, who appeared to be in good health, experienced a rapid decline before passing away on Monday, October 28, at Ridge Hospital in Accra following a brief illness.
In an interview, Roman Fada expressed affection and respect for Donkor and recalled his last interactions with her.
They had met on Friday, October 26, to discuss campaign preparations, and she appeared healthy and energetic.
However, on the evening of Saturday, October 27, Fada received a call that Donkor felt unwell and had been admitted briefly to the Nsawam Government Hospital before being transferred to Ridge Hospital in Accra, where she later passed.
Roman Fada expressed shock, noting that she was even planning to travel to Kumasi soon. He added that the GFP will release an official statement soon to provide more details and outline the party’s next steps following Donkor’s death.
