CETAG cautions that it may resume strike

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has cautioned it may resume industrial action due to the government’s failure to fulfill its commitments regarding salary structure adjustments.

Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana previously suspended a two-month strike in August following government assurances that members’ pay would be aligned with public university salary structures by October 2024.

CETAG President Prince Obeng-Himah expressed disappointment over the unmet promise, citing a perceived lack of respect towards CETAG members and ongoing frustration with the government’s delay.

He highlighted CETAG’s increasing dissatisfaction, noting that members are considering taking matters into their own hands if their concerns continue to go unaddressed.

Obeng-Himah criticized past meetings with the government as unproductive, stating that the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana will soon take decisive action if the issue remains unresolved.
