Yasarko Press was replaced because of equipment issues – EC

Due to equipment issues, the Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the replacement of Yasarko Press, one of the contracted printing houses for the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

The EC reported that Yasarko Press informed them a few days ago that a key piece of printing equipment had malfunctioned, leading to the termination of their contract.

In response, the EC quickly secured contracts with Buck Press and Acts Commercials to take over the printing duties.

In a statement signed by Mr. Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations, the EC addressed claims from the National Democratic Congress’ Director of Elections and Information Technology that they had engaged a printing house with questionable capabilities.

Mr. Tettey affirmed that both new printing houses have proven expertise, and the EC is confident that this change will not disrupt the printing schedule for ballot papers.
