PNP criticizes NPP and NDC for overlooking vital national issues

The People’s National Party (PNP) has expressed serious concern about the current situation in Ghana, highlighting rising prices, the struggles of mothers, and environmental damage from illegal mining.

The party noted that, despite these pressing challenges, the two major political parties, the NPP and NDC, are caught up in trivial disputes, overlooking the critical issues facing citizens.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, the PNP criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, stating, “The NPP’s majority has not benefited everyday Ghanaians, failing to lower the prices of goods and services.”

They pointed out the difficulties faced by new mothers who cannot afford baby food, while the government ignores the illegal mining crisis.

Additionally, the PNP condemned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for focusing on reducing betting taxes, a move perceived by many as out of touch and called instead for a ban on betting to support meaningful livelihoods for the youth.

The party emphasized that women and children are the most affected during times of crisis and urged the NDC to ensure discipline among its members and uphold the rule of law. They also advised the NPP to resolve its internal issues without dragging the Supreme Court into the matter.

In conclusion, the PNP delivered a strong message, asserting that Ghanaians are looking for concrete solutions to urgent problems, rather than debates over parliamentary leadership.
