Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Amenfi Central in the Western Region , has been hailed for her transformative contributions to the district, spearheading development projects across multiple sectors.
Her dedication to the community’s growth has been widely recognized, with 85 key interventions impacting education, healthcare, energy, water, agriculture, and infrastructure.
In the education sector, Hon. Gyan has prioritized improving learning environments. She has supported the roofing of school buildings, renovated classroom blocks, and constructed essential facilities, including toilets.
Additionally, her scholarship program has granted 120 basic school pupils four-year scholarships and provided financial aid to tertiary students. Her commitment to education extends to donating school furniture and sponsoring educational events.
In healthcare, Hon. Gyan has facilitated significant projects. She donated cement for CHPS compound buildings and supported the construction of various healthcare facilities.
To ensure better access to medical services, she sponsored free health screenings and medical operations, while also offering food and clothing support to those in need.
In the energy sector, Hon. Gyan’s efforts to improve power supply have been vital. She facilitated the replacement of transformers and distributed street bulbs, improving access to electricity and enhancing security across Amenfi Central.
Water and sanitation have also seen notable improvements. Hon. Gyan spearheaded the drilling of mechanized boreholes and supported the mechanization of existing ones, addressing water scarcity issues in the district.
The agricultural sector has not been left out of her development agenda. She donated farming tools, including cutlasses, boots, and spraying machines, to local farmers, empowering them to improve their productivity.
In terms of human resource development, Hon. Gyan has focused on job creation, establishing a factory that employs over 30 people and creating additional jobs through her mining business.
She has also played a key role in women’s empowerment, providing seed funds to women’s groups, promoting financial independence and entrepreneurship.
Hon. Gyan’s passion for youth and sports development has seen her fund the construction of football fields and sponsor sports competitions, encouraging youth participation in sports.
In the area of road infrastructure, she has been instrumental in the construction of temporary bridges, ensuring better transportation and connectivity for residents.
Additionally, her community development projects include donating cement for self-help initiatives and supporting the construction of durbar centers, crucial for community gatherings.
