Electoral Commission announces certified voters’ register for the 2024 elections
The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa, announced that the certified voter register for the 2024 general elections will be ready and distributed to all political parties in the first week of November.
She shared this update during an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
In her opening remarks, Mrs. Mensa reassured stakeholders of the EC’s commitment to maintaining an accurate and comprehensive voters’ register. This register will include all eligible voters registered during the 2020, 2023, and 2024 registration exercises.
Mrs. Mensa emphasized, “Over the past two weeks, we have focused on cleaning the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) to ensure its accuracy. In essence, we have worked to guarantee that every individual who registered in 2020, 2023, and 2024 is included in the voter register.
We are confident that the revised PVR we are presenting today significantly improves upon the register from the exhibition exercise, as we have addressed nearly all discrepancies raised so far.”
