Sean “Diddy” Combs faces new allegations of rape and sexual assault in fresh lawsuits
Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently facing new allegations of rape, sexual abuse, and sexual assault, as a series of lawsuits were filed in New York federal court on Monday.
The lawsuits, which include at least six claims from two women and four men, detail incidents that reportedly occurred between 1995 and 2021.
The unnamed accusers assert that some of these assaults took place during parties hosted by Combs, which were frequented by numerous celebrities and music artists.
In response to the allegations, Combs’ legal team has firmly denied any wrongdoing, stating to the BBC that he “has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman.”
One particular accuser recounts attending one of Combs’ parties in the Hamptons in 1998 when he was just 16 years old.
In his lawsuit, he expressed excitement about receiving an invitation to the event, which had become a well-known annual gathering for A-list celebrities.
He described mingling with various stars and eventually encountering Combs while heading to the bathroom. During their conversation about breaking into the music industry, the lawsuit claims that Combs suddenly commanded him to undress.
This lawsuit includes a photograph of the two together at the party, with the accuser’s face blurred for anonymity.
According to the suit, Combs allegedly remarked that this was “a rite of passage” and “the route to becoming a star,” insisting that the teenager had the right “look” to succeed in the industry.
Another lawsuit filed on the same day features allegations from a woman who claims that Combs raped her in a hotel room in 2004 when she was a 19-year-old college student.
She stated that she met Combs at a photoshoot, after which he invited her and a friend to a private party at his hotel.
The lawsuit alleges that upon arrival, Combs “fondled, molested, and ultimately raped her” despite her persistent requests for him to stop.
Attorney Tony Buzbee, representing the accusers, mentioned he is representing over 100 individuals who intend to sue Combs for allegations of sexual assault, rape, and sexual exploitation.
He indicated that some of these victims are children and stated that the lawsuits are being filed under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, which permits victims to bring forth older claims.
“We will let the allegations in the filed complaints speak for themselves and will work to see that justice is done,” Buzbee affirmed after filing the lawsuits.
He also noted that more cases are anticipated in the coming weeks, as evidence continues to be gathered.
These lawsuits are part of a larger pattern, with more than a dozen similar claims already filed against Combs, accusing him of assault, rape, and sexual extortion. He has denied all civil and criminal charges against him.
Additionally, Combs is facing federal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, with a trial tentatively scheduled for May 5, 2025.
Since his arrest on September 16, he has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.
His lawyers have requested his release until the trial, citing “horrific” conditions at the jail, but a federal judge recently denied this bail request, labeling Combs as a “serious flight risk.”
