Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sex trafficking trial to start in May 2025
Music mogul Sean Combs, also known as “Diddy,” is scheduled to face trial on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking on May 5, 2025, as announced by a judge during a Thursday court hearing.
Federal Judge Arun Subramanian stated that Combs will remain in custody following his indictment last month on three criminal charges, accusing him of sexually abusing women and coercing them into drug-fueled sex parties through threats and violence.
Combs, who has been denied bail twice due to concerns of potential witness tampering, has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Entering the courtroom in a light-colored, wrinkled shirt and pants, he acknowledged his mother and children who were present for the hearing.
Prosecutor Emily Johnson revealed that there is still substantial evidence to be examined, pointing out that 96 electronic devices had been seized in March.
She added that further charges against Combs could be forthcoming.
The allegations against the Grammy-winning artist began surfacing last year when singer Cassie, whose legal name is Casandra Ventura, accused Combs of subjecting her to over a decade of abuse, including physical coercion, drug use, and a 2018 rape.
Since then, numerous civil lawsuits have followed, painting Combs as a violent figure who used his fame to exploit women.
In a striking revelation, attorneys have indicated that more than 100 individuals, some of whom were minors, have come forward claiming they were assaulted or exploited by Combs.
These allegations have sparked broader conversations about a culture of sexual misconduct within the music industry, with many arguing that such behavior is part of a larger, unchecked pattern.
