“28 years of darkness, there’s a new light in Takoradi” -Lawyer Faidoo launches campaign for Takoradi seat
Lawyer Frederick F. Faidoo, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Takoradi, officially launched his campaign and manifesto on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in preparation for the upcoming December elections.
At the launch event, Lawyer F. F. Faidoo expressed gratitude to party executives, fellow parliamentary candidates, Members of Parliament, and supporters who attended.
“I want to extend special thanks to all Executives of the party, Parliamentary Candidates, Members of Parliament, my family, friends and constituents for coming to show love and listen to the good message. Everyone here has to be proud and say that he/she is part of the change that is coming”, he stated.
Mr. Faidoo emphasized the importance of unity and community involvement in bringing about transformation, declaring, “28 years of darkness—there’s a new light in Takoradi, and that light is Lawyer F. F. Faidoo. I’m committed to a leadership based on truth, accountability, and honesty. Unlike the incumbent MP who turned his back on us, I promise to deliver jobs, quality healthcare, education, and improved living conditions for all.”
The Deputy Leader of Parliament and MP for Ellembele, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, also addressed the crowd, sharing his optimism for change in the metropolis. “Today, I’m filled with excitement. Many surveys indicate that change is on the horizon. If we don’t act now, Ghana will suffer. Every government faces challenges, but a government that ignores its citizens is unworthy of leadership,” he asserted.
Mr. Buah encouraged voters to support John Dramani Mahama and Lawyer Faidoo in the upcoming elections, emphasizing the need for a humble and dedicated representative for Takoradi.
“Come December 7, John Mahama will be voted for and he will come back to steer this country unto a path of truthfulness and what we are crying for. Takoradi needs an MP who is not selfish, who is humble, who is from here –trust me, Lawyer Faidoo will change Takoradi for the better.”
The event was attended by various NDC parliamentary candidates, including those for Kwesimintsim, Sekondi, and Essikado-Ketan, along with the NDC Regional Chairman, Nana Kojo Toku, and Totobi Kwakye, NDC National Youth Organizer, George Opare Addo and his deputy.
