Essikado-Ketan: Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah launches campaign, vows to secure victory

The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Essikado-Ketan, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, officially launched her 2024 election campaign on Saturday at Essikado, expressing her commitment to winning the seat and bringing development to the constituency.

During her address, Prof. Dr. Ayensu-Danquah reflected on the 2020 elections, recounting the support she received and her determination to prevent any electoral irregularities in the upcoming elections.

“From 2019 we worked hard and the people of Essikado-Ketan Constituency voted massively for us and we all know what happened -we were robbed. I am here again seeking your mandate…look at what we’ve been able to do in health, education, infrastructure, human development (skills training, jobs, etc), financial assistance, et al”, she declared.

She went on to highlight her contributions in the areas of health, education, infrastructure, skills training, and financial assistance, emphasizing her respectful and constructive engagement with the community. “In all of these, we have not thrown insults about, but with full respect, we have engaged constituents of Essikado-Ketan.”

Prof. Ayensu-Danquah reaffirmed her commitment to addressing the needs of the constituency if elected, with a focus on development, job creation, and improved healthcare services.

“I am thankful to you all for your support and quest to send me to parliament to bring development, jobs, youth development, better health care, amongst many, to Essikado-Ketan. You know that I’ll do all that you’ve asked of me, if voted for because I live here with you and and I know what the challenges in here are. So I have taken this very serious and will do all I can because if Essikado-Ketan becomes better, it becomes better for us all.”

She also vowed to ensure that the election process in 2024 would be free from malpractice, stating, “2020 is not 2024. I will protect all ballot boxes in Essikado-Ketan at all cost. Although I’m the only woman contesting within the metropolis, they should know that I’m not soft – I’m not ready to allow them to cheat like they did in 2020.”

The NDC candidate concluded by rallying her supporters to vote massively for both her and the NDC’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, urging, “please go out and vote massively for John Dramani Mahama (number 8 on the ballot) and Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah (number 2 on the ballot).”

The event was attended by several prominent NDC figures, including Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah, MP for Ellembele and Deputy Minority Leader of Parliament, Nii Lante Vanderpuije, MP for Odododiodoo and former Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Totobi Kwakye, former Minister for Infromation, Isaac Adjei Mensah, MP for Wassa East, Mustapha Foyo Gbande, NDC National Deputy General Secretary, as well as NDC Parliamentary Candidates for Sekondi, Kwesimintsim, and Takoradi, alongside regional party executives.
