TUSAAG declares nationwide strike over unfulfilled collective bargaining agreement
The Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG) has announced a nationwide strike, set to begin on Friday, September 27, 2024.
The strike follows the government’s failure to fulfill its obligations under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and to implement revised allowances for senior members of public universities.
TUSAAG has warned that it will withdraw all services across the country’s technical universities until their demands are fully met.
The association stressed that it has exhausted all possibilities for further negotiations and is now insisting on the complete implementation of all provisions in the CBA.
In a statement, TUSAAG expressed frustration with the government’s repeated failure to honor the agreement, despite numerous assurances.
The refusal to implement the revised allowances, which were directed by the Ministry of Finance in May 2024, was highlighted as a clear violation of the association’s rights.
