“Reject Joseph Mensah’s selfish bid and vote for Dr. Armah” – MCE Kojo Acquah

The newly constructed Anaji Market

Kojo Acquah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA), has issued a strong appeal to the constituents of Kwesimintsim, urging them not to vote for Joseph Mensah, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.

Joseph Mensah, who served as the MP but failed to retain his seat in subsequent elections, is now contesting as an independent candidate in the upcoming election.

During the commissioning of the Anaji community market by Dr. Prince Hamid Armah on Thursday, Mr. Acquah expressed his dissatisfaction with Joseph Mensah’s performance during his time in office, accusing him of failing to bring any tangible development to the Kwesimintsim constituency. He emphasized that Mr. Mensah’s tenure as MP left much to be desired in terms of delivering meaningful progress for the people.

“Joseph Mensah, who is now seeking to contest as an independent candidate, did not bring any significant development to this constituency during his time in office,” Mr. Acquah stated. “He is only running out of sheer hatred, jealousy, and selfishness. He is not driven by the genuine desire to serve this community.”

Kojo Acquah’s remarks highlighted the growing tension within the constituency as Joseph Mensah campaigns as an independent candidate against Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, the incumbent MP and candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mr Acquah made it clear that in his view, Joseph Mensah’s decision to contest was motivated by personal vendettas rather than a commitment to the welfare of the people of Kwesimintsim.

The MCE urged the constituents to rally behind Dr. Armah, commending him for his efforts in improving the constituency and calling for unity to support his leadership in the upcoming elections.

“Let’s all come together and support Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, who has been working hard to bring positive changes to this constituency,” Acquah appealed. “He has proven that he is dedicated to the growth and development of Kwesimintsim, and we need to continue supporting his good works.”
