Mahama defends NDC’s protest over Electoral Commission concerns

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has justified the party’s decision to protest against the Electoral Commission (EC), citing concerns about the accuracy of the voters’ register.

The NDC argues that discrepancies in the register could compromise the integrity of the upcoming December 7 elections.

During a community engagement on his Greater Accra regional tour, Mahama urged Ghanaians to support the NDC’s demand for a credible and transparent voters’ register, ensuring a fair electoral process.

He stressed that the party’s issues with the EC are not personal but focused on promoting peace before and after the election.

Mahama further explained the rationale for the demonstration planned for September 17, inviting all concerned Ghanaians to join in urging the EC to improve its work for a peaceful election.
