The NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Effia Constituency, Abdul Majeed Dokurgu Nassam has expressed confidence in winning the seat after submitting his nomination forms to the Electoral Commission (EC).
In a short ceremony held at the Electoral Commission’s office, Mr. Majeed Dokurgu submitted his nomination forms, marking a significant milestone in his bid to represent the people of Effia in parliament on the ticket of the NDC. He was accompanied by Constituency executives and supporters.
Speaking to the media after filing his nomination, Abdul Majeed reiterated the need for the people of Effia constituency to give him and the flagbearer of the party, John Dramani Mahama the chance to do more for them.
He urged the constituents to change their narrative of always voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the past years.
Mr. Dokurgu also called on his supporters to maintain peace and decorum as the campaign heats up, urging them to remember that their opponents are brothers in the same political family adding that they go by the electoral rules to avoid any violence.
” It’s my plea that our supporters and all stakeholders in this coming elections will know that, when we adhere to electoral procedures it will give us the lasting peace we are looking for. Sekondi-Takoradi as a whole, the metropolis had also been all about the NPP and this time around that dominance must be broken.
Development is what we are looking for, we can continue doing the same thing and expect different results, so this time around change has become inevitable, that the people of Sekondi Takoradi will vote for His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and all the parliamentary candidates in this metropolis to represent them in the next parliament of Ghana” He said.
