Bawumia Officially Files Nomination for Presidential Election
Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has officially submitted his nomination for the upcoming election.
In his filing statement, Bawumia stressed the need for a peaceful electoral process, asserting, “We must not allow our country to be divided. We must uplift Ghana after the election. Our conduct and prayers throughout this process will be key to ensuring a peaceful resolution.”
He also conveyed his confidence in the Electoral Commission (EC), stating, “We should not blame the EC for the outcomes. Instead, we pray for their strength, wisdom, and guidance for the chairperson, deputies, staff, returning officers, presiding officers, and everyone involved in this demanding task.
I believe the EC will meet the challenge. Ghana is well-regarded for its election practices, and I trust that Madam Chair and her team will deliver effectively.”
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and former President John Dramani Mahama, the top contenders in this year’s presidential race, have both filed their nominations, marking a key milestone in their respective campaigns.
The National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, will submit John Mahama’s nomination forms on his behalf.
The NDC has characterized this action as a crucial moment in their campaign, emphasizing, “The submission of the forms is a pivotal step towards our goal of revitalizing Ghana’s economy and collaboratively building the Ghana we envision for the future.”
