Joana Cudjoe Set to Compete Again in the Amenfi Central Parliamentary Primary

Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) aspirant for Amenfi Central, has announced her intention to run again in the party’s primary.

This decision comes after the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) annulled the parliamentary primary held on May 13, 2023, in the constituency.

The annulment follows a Sekondi High Court order that had previously issued a restraining order against Joana Gyan Cudjoe, preventing her from presenting herself as the Parliamentary Candidate (PC) due to an interlocutory injunction granted to five NDC members in the constituency.

In a statement released on Thursday, September 5, Joana Gyan Cudjoe expressed optimism about the rerun, calling it an opportunity to unite and strengthen Amenfi Central. She reaffirmed her dedication to advancing education, infrastructure, healthcare, and economic opportunities in the constituency.

She urged everyone—youth, women, men, elders, and all stakeholders—to support her vision for positive change. “Together, we can overcome challenges and achieve lasting benefits for our community,” she said, appealing for votes, prayers, and support.

Nomination forms for the primaries are available today, Friday, September 6, 2024, from the office of the deputy general secretary in charge of administration and finance. The primaries are scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
