PURC Urges ECG, NEDCO Customers to Validate Meter Readings

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, PURC is urging customers of the Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG and the Northern Electricity Distribution Company, NEDCO to insist on witnessing the final reading of their old meters before they are replaced with the new meters.

Customers are to ensure that they are present during the meter replacement process and validate the final reading on the meters.

This is to ensure that their bills are accurate. In a statement, the PURC advised customers to take proactive steps to protect their interest during the meter replacement exercise.

Customers are also entreated to verify the identity of utility company personnel, request a copy of the meter replacement notice, and ensure that the meter replacement form is accurately completed.

This is to ensure that the right information is captured.
