OMCs drop fuel prices for third consecutive time
Some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have begun lowering fuel prices at the pumps as the first pricing window for September opens.
This marks the third consecutive reduction in fuel prices by certain OMCs in recent pricing periods.
State-owned Goil, which previously sold petrol (Super XP) at GH₵14.22 during the second pricing window in August, has now reduced the price to GH₵14.16. Diesel (Diesel XP) has also seen a drop, now retailing at GH₵14.70, down from GH₵14.90.
These slight reductions are primarily due to a decrease in the prices of refined petroleum products on the international market, coupled with the relative stability of the cedi during this period. Additional OMCs are expected to follow suit and reduce their prices in the coming days.
